dresses of indians

  • From heavy traditional sarees and jewellery, Indian women experiment quite a bit with their looks in a bid to stand out on the occasion.

  • As a prologue to Deepavali celebrations, Rajasthan Cosmo Club distributed new clothes, worth ` 30 lakh, to 20,000 underprivileged people on Sunday.
The Cosmo Club has been distributing dresses to various orphanages and old age homes through its ‘Shri Dinesh Kumar Bhandari New Cloth Scheme’ every year. This year, clothes were distributed to inmates of 80 NGOs, leprosy homes, old age homes, home for mentally challenged and corporation schools.
“This time we have included leprosy homes and homes for mentally challenged too. On occasions like Pongal, Deepavali and New Year, we give them new clothes. We also give new school uniforms to students,” said Jayanthi Kothari, a member of Rajasthan Cosmo Club.
The clothes were distributed by S Abdul Rahim, Minister for Backward Communities and Minority Welfare, and JCD Prabhakar, MLA, who were the chief guests on the occasion. Both guests appreciated the noble gesture by the club.
“It is overwhelming to see members of the Rajasthan Cosmo Club fulfilling the needs of the deserving people in Tamil Nadu. Though there are many other initiatives taken up by the members of the club, cloth donation is considered very important as it protects the human dignity. I appreciate the success of this Cloth bank initiative taken by the club,” said Abdul Rahim.
